Brokebake Mountain, Pt 2
I hope you will take a minute to read Casey's Tripp's rather eloquent rantings in the comments section. What do you think a Christian response to such movies should be? How do we as Christians fight this culture war? Let me know what you think.

I have found a great way to hold back the wave of carnality coming through the TV screen. Simply, don't subscribe to cable TV! I find practically all TV very belittling of Jesus and His Word. It's either a half-dressed hostess, sex scenes, crude-hateful language, gross potrayal of crime, and worst of all no mention of the God of the Bible. I'm truly appalled that we let this in our homes at all! I have personally heard the excuse, "It's just entertainment." As if enjoying the potrayal of sin is okay as long as you don't carry it into "real life". However Jesus thought in a radically different way. Matt 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." What you treasure or enjoy is a measure of your heart. He also said in Matt 5:28 that lustful thinking is adulterous thinking. God is a judge of our affections, desires, pleasures.
Most people I think would laugh at the idea of no TV. But just try not watching it for a week and see what may happen. I personally have found it to be very liberating (spiritually and time wise). Replace you entertainment with something God saturated, with family, or with Kingdom work. I think the Church would be much more God exalting if we would give up our demands to be entertained.
If I have a soap box, this is it. I'm not trying to put a law on top of God's grace. However I wonder how much presumption we have made. Romans 6:1-2
